Head over to Tontitown for the 109th Annual Grape Festival. Here are some tips:
- The festival runs Tuesday through Saturday. But, consider going on Tuesday or Wednesday to take advantage of the armband nights for the carnival rides (4:30- midnight).
- Spaghetti dinners with homemade pasta and rolls are served Thursday through Saturday (4:30-8:30). It’s fun to eat in the Parish hall (which is always packed), but if the line is too long, order your plates to go when you purchase your dinner tickets.
- The Run for the Grapes kids fun run is scheduled for 8:00a.m. on Saturday.
Also, there’s lots to do on Saturday:
- Beat the heat and spend your Saturday inside at the Northwest Arkansas Kids Day at the John Q. Hammons Center in Rogers.
- Then, head over to the Ice Cream Social sponsored by the Washington County Historical Society at the Headquarters House in Fayetteville. Homemade cakes and cold ice cream — yum!
- Top off the night at the Trout Fishing in America concert on Mount Sequoyah in Fayetteville.
Finally, eat out on Tuesday night at Hugo’s, Penguin Eds, or the Greenhouse Grille and a portion of your tab will go to support the Single Parent Scholarship Fund of Northwest Arkansas. All three restaurants are kid friendly.
