by Terri Chadick on May 13, 2009

Junior League of Northwest Arkansas is looking forward to its third annual Touch a Truck, which has been rescheduled for Saturday, May 16th from 10:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. Touch a Truck will take place at the Pinnacle Hills Promenade Mall in the parking lot on Promenade Blvd. in front of Borders.

Touch a Truck is a unique and fun time that no one else in Northwest Arkansas is offering. Visitors and participants can touch and climb on vehicles of all types, including helicopters, construction vehicles, emergency vehicles, motorcycles and big rigs.

Kids will also have a blast climbing through the bouncy obstacle course, learning to build items with the Home Depot crew, and chowing down on hamburgers, hot dogs, Yarnell’s ice cream, and Pepsi drink products.

Attendees can win great prizes, including bicycles, a family campsite set (including tent, sleeping bags, and grill), and gift certificates. Additional entertainment will include character visits by Strike with the Northwest Arkansas Naturals and the Chick-fil-A cow.

Safety education will be provided at Touch a Truck by the Coast Guard, Rogers Police and Fire Departments, and the Morgan Nick Foundation. Health and wellness education will be presented by Walmart Vision and Coppertone.

Admission armbands are $5 per person or $20 per family and can be purchased at juniorleaguenwa.org, by calling (479)751-7054, or at the gate the day of the event.

Proceeds from this event will help fund various projects sponsored by the Junior League of Northwest Arkansas.
