The Frisco Festival (Friday, Aug. 22-Saturday Aug. 23) is a fun kid friendly festival.

The festival kicks off with the catfish fry starting at 5pm on Friday Aug. 22 with amusements and the ice cream social starting at 6pm.  On Saturday, Aug. 23 the day starts with a pancake breakfast from 6:30-11am with amusements beginning at 9am.

You can see the entire Frisco Festival event schedule by clicking here, but I have highlighted a few of the kid friendly events below:

  • Kids Muster (mini version of the firefighter’s skills test) - Saturday from 9-11am
  • A&M Railroad excursion train rides
  • FREE Ferris wheel, superslide, climbing wall, roller coaster, merry-g0-round, kids area (7 and under)

Of course, what is a festival without food?  Here’s what you will find:

  • An old-time ice cream social will be held Friday and Saturday at First and Walnut streets. The event is sponsored by Good Humor Breyer’s
  • If fried catfish and hush puppies are your favorite, the Rogers Rotary Catfish Fry is the place to be Friday starting at 5 p.m. at Second and Elm streets. Cost is $6 for adults and $4 for children.
  • Getting up early on Saturday? Stop by Second and Elm Street for the Early Risers Rotary Pancake breakfast. Cost is $6 per person.
  • Sandwiches, homemade pie and air conditioning  are the highlights of the Fill-R-Up Cafe at First United Methodist Church in Fellowship Hall, Third and Elm Streets.  Restrooms are available.
  • Concessions will be available in the food court near The Morning News Main Stage at First and Elm streets.

Enjoy!
