We were very excited to go to the Puppets in the park and at first it seemed like it would be great for my 3 and 4 year olds. Folks were walking around blowing bubbles and the show began with the ‘Monster of Ceremonies’, a man with a decorated paper sack over his head, very cute. Once the plays started it was a complete different story though. The first play was about princesses with distorted body image who would diet and sometimes ‘resort to surgery that could result in death’. It was mostly dialogue, completely inappropriate for the mainly preschool age children that were watching. The second play was a One World anti-war message, again not anything I would expect in this venue. We left after that so I’ve no idea if it improved but we had a much better time just playing in the park after that. Very disappointing.

Got something to say?
