My boys and I recently stopped in to see the Mystery of the Mayan Medallion exhibit at the Walton Arts Center in Fayetteville and were very impressed.  The exhibit would fit right in to any metropolitan children’s museum.

The Mystery of the Mayan Medallion, an exhibit developed by the Arkansas Discovery Network, will be on display through March 8 at the Joy Pratt Markham Gallery at the Walton Arts Center. The interactive exhibit, geared toward children, parents and teachers, is a puzzle where participants look for treasure and avoid the fate of unfortunate archaeologists.

While the exhibit is geared toward 3rd grade and up, my kindergartner and second grader loved it.  It is a small exhibit that will probably will take most kids 30 minutes to an hour to enjoy.

If you are near the Walton Arts Center, find time to see the Mayan Mystery Exhibit located in the gallery next to the box office at the Walton Arts Center.  It’s free and fun.

Through March 8, 2008 — 9-5 Monday through Friday and 10-4 on Saturdays
