UPDATE:  AJ mentioned in the comments that B&N is no longer hosting the Monday toddler storytime.  The other times from the B&N website may be dated as well.  I will check with B&N and update this post when I hear back from them.

Now that summer is just around the corner, I am looking for various activities to keep my kids busy.  I knew that Barnes and Noble offered regular story times, but I wasn’t sure of the schedule.  So, I wandered over to the Barnes & Noble website, and found that you can search for upcoming events at your local store.  Here’s what I found for Fayetteville:

  • Mondays at 11am — toddler storytime
  • Saturdays at 11am — children’s storytime
  • Friday, June 1 at 7pm — family game night
  • Friday, June 8 at 4:30pm — Modern American Girls book group (ages 5-8 and 8-12)
  • Saturday, June 9 at 1pm — Junie B Jones book group (ages 8-12)

I love the idea of the Junie B Jones and American Girls book groups.  What a great way to encourage your child’s love of reading.  Unfortunately, my boys are more into superheroes (although they would love a Magic Tree House book group).

The Borders bookstore in Rogers is another excellent place for story time (you can search for upcoming events on the Borders site as well).  Upcoming story time themes include Pirates of the Caribbean, Harry Potter and Father’s Day.  Go here for more information on the story times at Borders.

I’m not sure about all the dates/times you have listed, but I found out today that the Fayetteville Barnes & Noble does not do a toddler storytime on Mondays.

I was disappointed, but it didn’t make much of a difference to my toddler who was quite happy playing with their Thomas Train Set. :)
Just thought you might want to know!

Got something to say?
