Plan to visit the Botanical Gardens of the Ozarks during peak butterfly season. The Garden offers guided butterfly walks by appointment and each Sunday at 1pm starting September 14.
Visitors can observe caterpillars, chrysalises, and newly emerged butterflies in a special display case. Young visitors will recieve a special bookcover featuring native butterflies of Arkansas.
The best time to observe the butterflies is the early afternoon, but there is butterfly activity throughout the Garden on sunny days.
Butterfly festival activities are free with paid Garden admission. Admission: $5 for adults; $2.50 for kids 5-12, small children free.
