Massachusetts recently considered a proposal to ban spanking, even in the home. How do you feel on the subject?

This is ridiculous. I’m not a huge fan of spanking- and believe there are many alternatives to disciplining your child BUT I believe it is the parents’ decision. People have been spanking their naughty children since the beginning of time and only now, when children are brainwashed by the television, movies, liberal anti-everything people, in a society where children can have their parents put in jail because they spanked them as a discipline measure. It’s absurd if you ask me. Like I said- I don’t go around spanking my child, but there has been a time or two when a good swat on the tush got the point across. There IS a difference between spanking for discipline and trying to teach a lesson, than hitting in an abusive manner. The people that try to put those in the same category need to get a grip on reality.
