Handel’s Messiah was originally composed by George Frideric Handel in 1741 and is now highly regarded as a landmark composition that sets the standard for all large scale choral-orchestral masterworks. This year is the 250th anniversary of Handel’s death, but the great composer’s work is still moving and mesmerizing audiences as the musical heart of the holiday season. With the help of a traditional string orchestra, local and national vocalists will tell the story of the Messiah with a full-length musical presentation of this classic.
