Fayetteville Montessori School – A Life+Kids Favorite for Preschool, Summer Care, and After School Care

by Terri Chadick on July 14, 2009

As many of you know, my boys attended preschool at the Fayetteville Montessori School and loved it.  My kids were well ahead of the curve for kindergarten, and the school’s extended day program made the life of our family much easier when my husband and I were both working full time.  In short, I would recommend it to anyone looking for fulltime childcare in Fayetteville.

Also, I just learned that the Montessori school will be offering an after school program in the fall. So, if you are exploring alternatives for after school care, contact Montessori for more information.

But, the real reason for this post is to let you know that the Fayetteville Montessori school has a few spots still available in their summer program.  This is highly unusual, so if you are looking for childcare for the rest of the summer, this may be your lucky day.

My oldest son participated in the Montessori summer program after public school kindergarten and was very happy there.  Of course, what kid wouldn’t be – they go swimming twice a week, to the library weekly, and bowling or roller skating on Fridays as well.  Did I mention the weekly extended day field trips to the Tulsa Zoo, Aquarium, educational hikes, fishing, and Prarie Grove Battlefield?  That, too!

While the summer program is not as structured as the rest of the year (more playground time and popsicles!), the kids still receive intellectual stimulation with daily math, reading and language work as well as weekly educational speakers.  So, Montessori kids don’t suffer from the summer learning backslide that comes from weeks of endless television and video games.

For more information, go to www.fayettevillemontessorischool.com or call 443-7892 or just stop by.  The school is located on East Township Street, between College Ave. and N. Gregg.

We are proud to have Montessori as a sponsor of Life+Kids!
