Discovery Center of Springfield, Missouri is offering a great collection of curriculum-based workshops specifically for home school students. These hands-on experiences are for ages 5-12 and are available in morning, afternoon, and full day packages. Below is the information for the September Homeschool Day. September Home school Day: Changes! September 21 and September 27, 2007
10:00-12:00: AGES 5-7 Workshop: Build It - Test out your engineering skills by solving several engineering challenges. Be prepared to create, test and redesign!; AGES 8-12 Workshop: Chemistry Changes - Compare and contrast physical and chemical changes as we mix, heat, crush, and set things aflame!
12:00-1:00: Lunch Break: Full Day attendees may leave with parent for the lunch hour, or bring a brown bag lunch and eat at the Center.
1:00-3:00: AGES 5-7 Workshop: Kitchen Chemistry – Calling all beginning chemists! Join us as we do chemistry experiments with common household items found in your kitchen!; AGES 8-12 Workshop: Engineering – Become an engineer for the day! Discover first-hand what it takes to be an engineer and complete several engineering challenges.
Home school Day Fee Schedule:
Half Day (am or pm) : Member Price – $17 Non-Member – $20
Full Day: Member Price – $25 Non-Member – $30
