Choosing the birthday cake is one of my favorite parts of planning birthday parties. I know that many people would never consider anything less than homemade. I, on the other hand, am a sucker for the bakery-made cakes.
There is an ongoing debate in Fayetteville over who makes the best cakes — Chuck’s Cake Shoppe or Rick’s Bakery. Both bakeries have been around for years, and are located on College Avenue. They both make great cakes, and I would not hesitate to recommend either one.

Both places are phenomenal.
However, if I had to make a choice, Rick’s would be it. Primarily due to the spinning cake rack in the middle of the floor… makes me drool every time.
Shelby Lynn’s Cake Shop in Springdale (on Emma street) also has very good cakes and VERY affordable prices. (just the same as getting a cake from Walmart and so much better) Her iced sugar cookies are out of this world.
I would recommend Shelby Lynn’s in Springdale, she was on food network and is amazing, I had a horrible experience at Chuck’s and Rick’s was way out of my budget
Tastee Bakes in Prairie Grove has the same cakes as Rick’s and Chuck’s for much more affordable prices! They will be open all day starting in January.

My sister got me a cake from Chuck’s for my birthday. Loved it, we were eating it for breakfast the next day. I don’t think I’ve tried Rick’s cakes, although we had one at a party. I am in MN and wish Chuck’s would send me their frosting in a can so I could devour it Yum
do they have baking supplys there, or just cakes???
