The Education Station, Northwest Arkansas’ excellent resource for teaching materials, educational toys, and classroom supplies, has always been a favorite of teachers. But, did you know that the store is great for parents as well? Here’s why:
- A gift certificate from Education Station will put you at the top of any teacher’s list
- It is an easy place to pick up a birthday gift you can feel good about (and they provide free gift bags!)
- Most of the employees are either teachers or former teachers with good advice on how to help your kids learn at home
- Dextr (the Education Station’s dog) has a blog with lots of ideas and lesson plans from the store manager
- The store is very kid friendly with a train play area and changing table
The Education is located in Ozark Center Point Place in Springdale and is open 10-6 Monday through Saturday, or you can shop 24/7 online.
The Dickson Street Bookstore in Fayetteville

The aisles and aisles of books at the Dickson Street Bookstore seem never to end. The bookstore, which sells used and out-of-print books on Dickson Street, contains a rather impressive children’s and young adult section. If your child is just learning to read, this is an excellent place to pick up piles of paperback early-reader books at bargain prices. They also have a wide selection of Hardy Boy and Nancy Drew mystery series books — in case you would like to bring back an old classic.
