birth.jpgIf you are exploring alternatives to traditional maternity care and birth options, you should know about The BirthNetwork of NWA (link) – a local organization established to promote “mother-friendly” maternity care.

The organization is hosting two BOLD Red Tent events at local farmers markets where women can gather to listen to birth stories and record their own.  Henna painting, belly painting and massage will be offered as well.  Click here for more information (link).

On Friday, September 19th, 2008 at Teatro Scarpino in Fayetteville, BirthNetwork is presenting a local performance of “Birth”, a play by Karen Brody that is part of the BOLD (Birth On Labor Day) Movement.  Tickets are on sale now.  Buy early, as they expect a sell out of the play.  Click here for more information (link).

Finally, BirthNetwork sponsors monthly Parent Topic Nights at the public libraries in Bentonville and Fayetteville.  Click here for more information and a list of topics (link).
