Kids Art Classes at the Arts Center of the Ozarks

The Arts Center of the Ozarks in Springdale has announced its Spring class schedule which includes lots of art classes for children.  The classes for “all ages” would be great family activities (kids under 6 take the class with an adult)

Art Club for K-5th graders with Audrea Danenhauer

Students will enjoy exploring and working on many different art projects over the course of the semester. Classes are divided into month long units with each unit focusing on a different project.  Students will use a wide variety of media including painting, drawing, printmaking and clay.

  • UNIT 1: Tuesdays, February 5 – 26; 3:45-5:15 p.m.
  • UNIT 2:  Tuesdays, March 4 – April 1 (excluding Spring Break); 3:45-5:15 p.m.
  • UNIT 3: Tuesdays, April 8 – 29; 3:45-5:15 p.m.
  • UNIT 4: Tuesdays, May 6 – 27; 3:45-5:15 p.m.

ACO Members: $45 / Non-Members: $50 (Price is per Unit)

Fun Mud for K-5th graders with Audrea Danenhauer

Students will play with various kinds of clay and techniques to make one-of-a-kind works of art. Project will vary by unit. Students may also have an opportunity to use the pottery wheel depending on age and skill level.

  • UNIT 1: Mondays, February 4 – 25; 3:45-5:15 p.m.
  • UNIT 2: Mondays, March 3 – 31 (excluding Spring Break); 3:45-5:15 p.m.
  • UNIT 3: Mondays, April 7 – 28; 3:45-5:15 p.m.
  • UNIT 4: Mondays, May 5 – 26; 3:45-5:15 p.m.

ACO Members: $50/ Non-Members: $55 (Price is per Unit)

Private Instruction for all ages with Audrea Danenhauer

Students will receive four 1½ hour lessons of private art instruction, exploring any media desired i.e. watercolor, collage, print making, wheel throwing etc. All skill levels welcomed. Students may take in pairs or small groups. BY APPOINTMENT ONLY.

Multi Media Medley for all ages with Eden Miller

Students are given an opportunity to explore and combine techniques to create mixed media pieces. Children six and under must take classes with an adult. Projects different each unit.

  • MINI UNIT: Saturdays, January 19 & 26; 9:30-11:00 a.m. (½ price)
  • UNIT 1: Saturdays, February 2 – 23; 9:30-11:00 a.m.
  • UNIT 2: Saturdays, March 1 – 29 (excluding Spring Break); 9:30-11:00 a.m.
  • UNIT 3: Saturdays, April 5 - 26; 9:30-11:00 a.m.
  • ACO Members: $39 / Non-Members: $44

Pencils to Paint for all ages with Eden Miller

This class is designed for all skill levels in drawing, watercolor, and pastels. Advanced students may explore other media with permission of instructor. Projects will be different in each unit. Cost is per person, per unit. Children under 6 must take class with a family member.
